Second Grade Mrs. Bormann

Second Grade is such an exciting time!! I feel so very privileged to be going on this journey with you and your child! This year will mark an important time in your child's academic and spiritual growth.

A large focus of 2nd grade will be to prepare students to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist. This is such an amazing time in your child's faith formation. We explore the core concepts of what makes us uniquely Catholic and prepare to receive the most precious sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist for the first time. All students, although not all may be Catholic, learn together the Christian values taught to us by Jesus Christ Himself.

It is my belief that Catholic and Christian values are infused throughout the day in all subject areas.  It is my philosophy to make learning meaningful and fun, creating a successful learning environment for all my students all while keeping Christ as our center of focus.

Now a bit about myself.  I am married to Tim Bormann and have three children; Lilly, Clara, and Henry.  We are also joined at home by our trusty companion Lizzie, our ever faithful yellow lab. I graduated from Buena Vista University and went on to teach 6th grade, right here at St. Mary. I then moved to Fort Dodge and took a job as a kindergarten teacher at St. Edmond. After my children were born I took a few years off to be a full time stay-at-home mother. I feel unbelievable blessed to have been given this opportunity to return to St. Mary and continue on my teaching career.

I look forward to working closely with all the families in my classroom. I cherish this opportunity to guide your child in their academic and spiritual growth. I will strive to lead your child, though my own words and actions, to be Christ-like in all they do.

Please feel free to contact me at school,  or 515-332-2134. I always look forward to communicating your child's successes, no matter how great or small! The more communication we have, the more success your child will encounter.

I am looking forward to a year full of blessings and new found adventures!!
